Anni Iso-Mustajärvi
Business Development Director, BeeHealthy
Describe your role at your company. What’s the most important issue or topic you are working on at the moment?
I am leading the BeeHealthy software as a service business in Mehiläinen. I am on a mission to make healthcare smarter for service providers and patients. This means putting the patient experience in the center and making it way easier and smarter for professionals to help the patients. We have already proven this in Finland and it's inspiring to be able to help other healthcare providers worldwide by digitalizing health care with our customizable, module based, white-label software as a service platform.
Finnish Flow theme in Davos 2022 is Future of Cities. How are you and your company working towards a better future in our cities? What major issues are you hoping to solve?
There has never been a greater need for better healthcare. Traditionally, we have been good at curing people in our health care systems. The rapid aging of the population, increased chronic and mental diseases, poor accessibility and rising healthcare costs are forcing us to rethink how we get healthcare and how we should provide it. With digital tools we have already proven that the fundamentals of the care delivery can be changed: for example, doctors can take care of more patients with no compromise in patient safety or outcomes. We can enable things that are not possible in the traditional setting: early intervention is possible when we can predict and suggest action on lifestyle changes, we can help chronic care patients such as diabetics to keep their treatment in balance and focus on their everyday life. Ultimately this means having the right level of prevention and care accessible in the most convenient way: empower patients with 24/7 access to personalised, streamlined and comprehensive mobile supported health services remotely, cost efficiently and with outstanding customer experience.
What’s the biggest change you’d like to see in the world?
Enable easy and affordable access to healthcare and prevention for all. It would be my dream to see a shift in legislation and funding models to enable preventative, proactive and early interventions in health care.
Tell us about your commitment to make this change happen: as a leader, what steps do you intend to take to make this change happen? What are you committed to?
With over 1 million users on the platform, 70+ highly skilled software developers and global deployments taking place in over 10 different countries, BeeHealthy is rapidly becoming a leading digital healthcare solutions provider in the EMEA region. We currently provide digital healthcare solutions to global healthcare pioneer Mediclinic International across their three divisions in Switzerland, Southern Africa (South Africa and Namibia) and the United Arab Emirates ("UAE") and to a private hospital and medical service provider Hellenic Healthcare Group in Greece. Next steps for us would be to launch a new kind of support model for chronic care patients that we are currently piloting in Finland in a region with 120 000 population base. We are committed to working closely with our customer community of leading healthcare providers to accelerate the innovation around new kinds of healthcare delivery models.
Davos: How is going to Davos in May going to help you in reaching your goals / commitment? What are your expectations for Davos? Who are you looking forward to meeting there?
I am looking forward to meeting new people, having discussions with like-minded people. Finding contacts who can also support BeeHealthy’s endeavours in their countries. I believe that a setting like Davos can spark conversations that can then further spark initiatives that would not happen otherwise.
Why did you choose this painting / piece of art? (at Ateneum) What does it represent to you?
The scenery of this painting is next to the village where I was born. I still climb to this very spot in the Koli mountain to get inspired – I do the very same thing as the pioneering group of Finnish artists and national champions who climbed to Koli and got their inspiration there.
